There is also a variation of the Walwyn name...Wallen or Walyn from Cayon or Antigua. They are members of our family. The just pronounced the name wrong and it stuck.

The Walwyn's from Monkey Hill also have immediate family in Santo Domingo. That family in Santo Domingo has a birth certificate from St. Kitts dating back to the late 1890's. There is also a branch of Walwyn's in Martinique and Guadalupe who have written me. One of the Walwyn's own and operate a car rental agency in St. Maarten. The story of their grandfather is similar to the story of the Dominican Republic Walwyn's. It is a story of three brothers who ran away from St. Kitts on the boat at or around age 12. By the way, there is a Spanish Walwyn lawyer in Miami. He was born in Santo Domingo. We also have an Attorney in Orlando. Her name is Kim Walwyn-Chadderton. Her husband is a pediatric doctor. Please see the Walwyn business section for our businesses around the world.

Three stories that could have had a different outcome

#1.  I was in Orlando at a house party and I heard a Kittitian accent. I asked the young men where they were from. One of them told me he was from New York. I then told them that I was a Kittitian even though I have a Crucian accent. This young man was not too receptive of my asking where he was from. I told them that my name was Walwyn and he changed his attitude. He was my cousin. He, too, was a Walwyn. That night I met his other two brothers whom I had heard about. I had met his niece on the internet about two years before.

#2. I was in traffic court and the judge called the name Walwyn. I got up (Am a Deputy Sheriff). Another young man got up. Turns out he was the child of a cousin I had not seen in 26 years.

#3.  I was in Houston, Texas working as a body guard for Jesse Jackson. I was assigned to a lieutenant from a local police department. I knew this lieutenant for a few years ( I was a contracted police instructor for his agency). He was born in New York. I was leaving for St. Kitts for my grandfather's funeral the next day and I mentioned this to the lieutenant. He told he his mother's father was from Nevis. I told him to call his mother to see if she knew my family. It turned out that he was my cousin.

Walwyns, we are a very proud family and have been very proud of our name for centuries. I have spoken to Walwyns Black and White all around the world since www.walwyn.com has been on the World Wide Web. My point is that you never know who you are dealing with. Be courteous to everyone. Spread your heritage. Above all, please maintain the high standards that this family has been known to maintain when it comes to education and community service.
